March 2018

To raise awareness and funds for the Sport Relief charity we took part in sporting events across the school. Some of us showed great football skills, some of us took part in team games, whilst others completed a 1 mile running challenge. Overall the day was a complete success and we managed to raise over £230.00.

March 2017

School council organised a fund raising day for the Red Nose Day charity. After consultations we decided that the theme would be wear is red- the redder the better! We raised an amazing £320 in donations.

February 2017

The School Council organised a fundraising event for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). The children of Gainsborough Primary School participated in Bad Hair day in order to raise money for this charity. The money raised went towards the rebuilding and refurbishment of the hospital, supporting ground-breaking research into the development of new treatments, funding the most up-to-date equipment and providing accommodation and other support services for children and their families.

November 2016

School council participated in a Team London youth conference. This event was supported by the Mayor or London alongside local and national charities. We had the privilege of listening to inspirational speeches from a range of young volunteers in support of working with your local community to make a difference.

The speeches were inspirational and allowed the school council members to discuss the ways that our school can move forward and make links in our local community to benefit all.
