Year 6 - Scafell Pike Class
Autumn Term

Singapore Maths

Scafell Pike utilised strategies from the world famous Singapore Maths method to succeed when using long division.

Deptford Creek

Our trip to Deptford Creek was both informative and wet- VERY wet! We were able to see our learning come to life as we waded through the depths of the river and interacted with the environment.

The year 6 football match against Chobham Academy was certainly an evening of thrills! The Gainsborough Lions performed admirably and have vowed to come back even stronger!

Vertebrates and Invertabrates

Scafell Pike have been studying the fascinating world of vertebrate and invertebrates. Taking the lead from the likes of Darwin, we created our own classification keys to help with the identification of creatures based on their characteristics.

A Christmas Carol

The children have loved studying A Christmas Carol, especially getting into the character of the ultimate miser himself- Ebeneezer Scrooge!

Year 6 enjoyed a learning day run by a VERY real Viking as an introduction to our history topic.
